JUSTICE SEC. GUEVARRA SUSPENDS 3 PROSECUTORS FOR 60 DAYS DUE TO JEWELRY SMUGGLING

After
Justice Assistant Secretary Moslemen Macarambon Sr. was being junked by the new chief Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra, he has suspended again three Pasay City prosecutors for their alleged involvement in the jewelry smuggling at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).

Guevara directed suspension for Pasay City Prosecutor’s Office officer-in-charge (OIC) Benjamin Lanto, inquest prosecutor Florencio Dela Cruz Jr., and associate prosecution attorney Clementine Villanueva.

The suspension was due to the charges of
gross neglect of duty, gross incompetence, and inefficiency filed on May 21 by the Department of Justice (DOJ) Internal Affairs Unit over a “prima facie case”, which implemented 60 days.

  1. Suspension for 60 DAYS!?!? The OIC, The Inquest Prosecutor, and the associate prosecution attorney must be laughing all the way to their banks. They have 60 days to spend the millions of pesos bribe money which they received.
