LACSON BLOCKS THE ASSERTION OF PANGILINAN OVER THE QUO WARRANTO, PINGS SAYS "CONSTITUTION SAID MAY"

Sen. Panfilo Lacson literally defined the constitution that the ousted Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno "may removed" through the rules in the senate as provided in the Article XI, Section 2. He added that the operative word in the constitution is "MAY" blocking the assertion of Sen. Kiko Pangilinan in his assertion that the Quo Warranto is a clear violation of the constitution.

Lacson added that the Senate Resolution 738 might trespass the ruling in the Supreme Court considering the judiciary process of the top court.

Pangilinan presented Senate Resolution 738, “Expressing the Sense of the Senate to Uphold the Constitution on the matter of Removing a Chief Justice from Office” expressing his intention to invalidate the decision of SC ruling over Sereno's disqualification as 8 justices favored the decision.
