SENs. AQUINO, GATCHALIAN DEMANDS UTILIZATION OF CASH TRANSFER PROG. TO EASE EFFECTs OF TRAIN LAW






Senators Sherwin Gatchalian and Bam Aquino had called to alleviation program to counter the effects of the full implementation of train law specially to poor margin of the society.




Gatchalian pointed out upon the implementation of the TRAIN LAW, the inflation and prices of the basic commodities had raised and in its effects more Filipinos now unable to buy even their staple foods. He noticed that unconditional cash transfer program intended to shield low-income Filipinos from price increases due to the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) law was selective or not fully implemented.

Senator Bam Aquino, meanwhile, called on the government to prioritize poor Filipinos and support the suspension of the TRAIN Act, particularly the excise tax on fuel, he authored the Senate Bill No. 1798 that seeks to amend the excise tax.
