AFP SAYS COURT-MARTIAL STILL APPLIES TO SEN. TRILLANES/ crimes done ON DUTY





The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) will pursue arrest on Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV after President Rodrigo Duterte signed Proclamation number 572 seeking an immediate detention of the senator. The AFP will be applying a court-martial while the search for his missing amnesty application form goes on since the crimes committed while he is still on active duty.





Duterte released an order to arrest Trillanes after he voided the earlier proclamation of former President Benigno Aquino III against the coup detat for then President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.Arsenio Andolong, spokesperson for the Department of National Defense (DND) said that Trillanes should produce the authenticated original application before a court to regain his freedom since the DND still to find the copy since its missing, or not submitted yet.




"Only Trillanes knows," he added. “There were forms signed. Unfortunately, it seems he is the only one who has the copy of the original [amnesty application], because we cannot locate it. If he physically submitted it to the [temporary committee for amnesty] or Malacañang, we don’t know. Only he can answer that.”
